I thought your free header video contained useful information. As a matter of fact I have been wrestling a little about my own site. It began as rehab probject [see my history] and has become the “hub” of my other sites. So to use it as a direct route as you show in your video can be done. Where I have my own domain I can simply create a /foldername and have the index.htm for whatever the product/service is.
I am in the process now of cleaning up my old sites and resizing everything to fit the new theme scheme. I had to learn a lot of different web technologies in order to finally arrive at proceeding with this project.
Yes, I agree with you, the site design and graphics per se are not the driving force to anything. And I surely need to learn more about creating NEW traffic and then of course having something to give/sell to them.
Eventually I will have my music as a product. Also, I am considering converting my PC help videos to a CD for sale at a very small price.
As of just a few days ago I have started to get my twitter follows up. From 50 to now over 500. So I presume its working. But its no good to have people visiting you when you’re not offering something that creates a target customer list or better yet, sales revenue. So I do understand these concepts.
Also, the yellow “i” that I use as my faveicon and on my twitter was something I did years ago and now I am considering having different icons for different product. I would prefer music notes for my music. But BRAND EQUITY surely is important and I understand much about that.
I think what I need is to create a sub-site with your product and simply follow your directs and get started. I can do my thing when the studio is ready and I can then record and produce music for sale. It’s not imperative that I wait for that to happen. As you know, waiting is the worst thing anybody can do. This is why I began working on getting my twitter follows higher so I could filter from them to create a targeted list.
I appreciate your help and videos. I do the same with my free PC help videos that have driven traffic to my site. Then I hosted free for a group and lost over 50% of my traffic. But, I wasn’t selling anything and traffic can be regained. And, I would like to think that I have some Internet brand equity in the fact that many people “know” about my help videos and other topics on my site.
